Hi, I‘m Ursula. I am an objects conservator, based in Switzerland. Next to working in the Museum and having access to finds, I‘m in reenactment as an active part of the Legio XI from Vindonissa, portraying the time between 70-100 A.D.
My name is Kacper I am 21 years old and I am highly passionate about archaeology. I am currently taking studies at UCC and I'm volunteering in Cork Public Museum from November 2023.
I have worked as a field anthropologist in several historic and prehistoric sites, in Spain (roman and muslim context) and Israel (Natufian site of Ain Mallaha-Eynan)
I started experimenting with bronze casting, ceramics, glass beads, smithing and other things while studying Prehistoric Archaeology in 2013.
Specialist in general experimental archeology (since 2012), with extensive practice in the Bronze Age and Neolithic.
When did I start? So long ago I do not exactly recall. I've done very early hunting since the seventies. I learned to make my own arrows and bows to historic models. I'm learning to knap flint into points. I've learned to use the atlatl and darts, the sling (Balearic in this case).
I am an historic tailor and study prehistoric clothing for 20 years. For about 15 years do living history of the early iron age. Beside all kinds of textile technics, I try all skills early iron age people needed to know as specialy concening fishing.
Sally is an archaeologist and freelance heritage educator with an MSc in Experimental Archaeology. She is also an Honorary Associate Research Fellow at Exeter University.
Having had a keen interest in traditional crafts and living history, I went on to study Experimental Archaeology at University, specialising in viking age bloomery iron smelting.
