Bibliography on Line about experimental archaeology and archaeological education

One of the most important first steps before doing any own research is to explore what is already done in the specific field. For the purpose of discouraging reinventing the wheel, the present listing is offered.

This bibliography holds references for those interested in experimental archaeology and archaeological education as well as to archaeological open air museums.
With the start of EXARC, founded by Johansson, Paardekooper and Schmidt 2001, the Institute of Ancient Technology (IAT), Sweden encouraged and helped me to start with making this list on line available. It goes back on the 2,078 entries of the "Bibliographie zur Experimentellen Archäologie", Beiheft 7, (1994), published in the series: "Archäologische Mitteilungen aus Nordwestdeutschland" which is unfortunately no longer available.
The original bibliography has been expanded over the years with whatever came across. There are “experimental” bibliographies from the 1970s for example and some journals are checked issue by issue (The Bulletin of Primitive Technology, The Bulletin of Experimental Archaeology 1980-1990, the “Bilanz” series of EXAR, EuroREA of EXARC and the Bulletin VAEE, to name a few).
The current listing holds probably only the tip of the iceberg as it is much biased because it only holds whatever we come across.
